Eines meiner verschlüsselten Laufwerke (LUKS + cryptsetup) ext4 scheint beim Anzeigen von dmesg / syslog merkwürdige Fehler zu geben:

Und ich kann nicht ls hinein (aber ich kann cd hinein)

Wenn ich jedoch Badblocks ausführte, wurden 0 Fehler gefunden. Der kurze Test von smartctl ergab keine Fehler:
