Ich habe eine pppoe Internetverbindung. Mein ISP bietet folgende Verbindungen:

ISP->media converter(fiber)->8 port switch(TP Link TL-SF1008D)->to individual internet connection account holders (like me)

Nun erfolgt die Verbindung zwischen dem Medienkonverter und dem Switch über ein 4-paariges Cat5-Crossover-Kabel. Ich möchte das vom Switch ausgehende Kabel mit dem Router und über den Router mit meinem PC verbinden. Welchen Kabeltyp sollte ich verwenden, um die Verbindung zwischen dem Switch und dem Router herzustellen (gerades Kabel oder Cross-Over-Kabel)?

Ich versuche zu sagen, dass ich über das direkte Kabel zwischen dem Switch und meinem PC eine Verbindung zum Internet herstellen kann. Wenn ich jedoch das gleiche Kabel zwischen dem Switch und dem Router und vom Router an meinen PC anschließe, kann ich das nicht Mit dem Internet verbinden.

Wenn ich das 2-Paar-Kabel (anstelle von 4) zwischen dem Switch und dem Router verwende, kann ich eine Verbindung zum Internet herstellen. Dies gilt jedoch nicht für das 4-Paar-Cat5-Kabel.

All ports on the TP Link TL-SF1008D support Auto-MDIX, so you can use any straight-through or crossover 8P8C terminated (RJ45) Cat 5/5E/6 twisted-pair Ethernet cable.

if I am using the 2 pair cable (instead of 4) between the switch and the router I am able to connect to the internet but same is not true in case of 4 pair cat5 cable.

100Base-T only needs two pairs. Your 4-pair Cat5 cable is broken or incorrectly wired, test it with a suitable cable-tester.

Ich kann auch auf das Internet zugreifen, wenn ich das 4-Paar-Kabel direkt an meinen PC anschließe (ohne einen Router zwischen dem Switch und meinem PC) und wenn sich ein Router zwischen dem Switch und dem PC befindet, kann keine Verbindung hergestellt werden Internet. You need a straight through cable.

(Since your switch supports auto MDI/MDIX ( http://www.tplink.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-SF1008D and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium_Dependent_Interface#Auto-MDIX ) you should be able to use a crossover cable too. Your switch provides 10/100Mbps ports, which need 2-pair cables (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_over_twisted_pair#Cabling ), although I'd expect 4-pair cables to work.)

Other connections may need other types of cables:

switch<->router : straight through router<->computer: crossover switch<->computer: straight through
